La scheda accensione e modulazione caldaia o scaldabagno è il componente che ha il compito di dare sia corrente agli elementi per l'accensione, sia di modulare la fiamma secondo le richieste dell'utente. Grazie alla scheda accensione e modulazione la caldaia è in grado di accendersi e alzare e abbassare la fiamma del bruciatore per fornire l'acqua alla giusta temperatura. Se la scheda elettronica caldaia o scaldabagno è rotta la caldaia non parte e va sostituita.
